In a not-so-happy New Year announcement, ABC has decided to change how recent episodes of Scandal - and several other shows - will be available. Basically, in order to watch episodes after they air (on ABC's website or through their app) you will need to log in through your cable provider. If, however, your cable provider happens to be DISH, Time-Warner or DirectTV among others, then you will be out in the cold. You're still in the clear if you have Hulu Plus or don't mind shelling out for the episode on iTunes or Amazon. Everyone else will have to wait eight days for the show to be free on ABC's website.
