Matchbox Twenty Releases New Single, First In 11 Years

credit: iTunes                                         Matchbox Twenty has released their first single since 2012's North album. The new song is entitled Wild Dogs (Running in a Slow Dream) and will be on their upcoming album, Where The Light Goes . It's not like they really went anywhere, the members have all just been working on their own projects. Frontman Rob Thomas released his album Chip Tooth Smile in 2019. He proceeded to tour with it and then Matchbox was preparing to launch a tour in the summer of 2020. Clearly, that did not happen so they rescheduled for 2021, 2022, and now, they have rebranded their initial tour for 2023. This aligns perfectly with the music that they have coming out, WTLG drops on May 26th and is available for pre-order.  So, what did the boys have in store for their new single? Was it worth the wait? That's a solid yes. Reminisce...

Santana and Rob Thomas Release New Music Video For "Move" TODAY!

Credit: Rob Thomas Instagram 'Move' was released in mid-August. It was one of several collaborations between Carlos Santana and Matchbox Twenty front man , Rob Thomas . Joining them was American Authors and it was definitely a banger. They initially performed it live at the concert for New York. The video was filmed a short while ago and would mark the first time Santana and Thomas would share the screen since 1999's smash hit, 'Smooth.' This morning, at 10 am EST, 'Move' premiered on Santana's Facebook and it was quite the contrast to the ever-colorful 'Smooth' which was filmed in Harlem. Check it out and leave your thoughts.

Steve Aoki Releases "Reimagined" Version of 'Unwell' Suitable For 2021!

Credit: iTunes It is doubtful when 'More Than You Think You Are' was released by Matchbox 20 in 2002, they knew the impact the single 'Unwell' would have on its fans. After the devastating year we had in 2020, where everyone was forced to become recluses and get stuck inside their own heads, the lyrics could not be more appropriate. If you did not feel a sense of alienation from all that was "real", there was tone deaf chip inside of you. What the world was going through was not normal. Wearing masks to the grocery store is not normal. Being unable to hug your loved ones is not normal. Not being able to leave your house due to a pandemic is not normal. Steve Aoki seemingly saw the call for help and enlisted Kiiara for 'Used to Be,' a "re-imagined" take on 'Unwell,' which charted at number one on the Billboard charts in May 2003. Just last week, Rob Thomas and his band-mates in MB20 partnered with RADical Hope as their charita...

Matchbox Twenty Going On Tour!

photo courtesy of matchboxtwenty.com It would only be appropriate for a band with the number '20' in it to announce they are going on a grand tour in 2020. And this just what Matchbox Twenty has done. After deleting all of their Instagram photos, leaving fans guessing with just gray boxes in their profile and story, along with a countdown, there was a big ole question mark lingering. Fans of Rob Thomas had heard MB20 would be touring this summer but we were not sure if this would include a new album or just a medley of their hits. The countdown officially ended at 10am EST this morning with the big reveal- yes, they are going on tour, with tickets going on sale this week. Who will be joining them? Usually it is the Counting Crows or the Goo Goo Dolls but The Wallflowers will be driving them home with one headlight. A complete list of tour dates is up at www.matchboxtwenty.com including sale dates and more so check it out. It was a somewhat expected announcement but a ...

Matchbox Twenty Leaves Fans Hanging!

photo courtesy of matchboxtwenty.com If you are a fan of Matchbox Twenty and follow them on Instagram , you undoubtedly saw a shocker when you went to their page. Every post has been deleted and yesterday, a single gray post went up. No caption, just gray and was followed by two more of the same. Earlier today, a timer went up in their story revealing tomorrow morning an announcement would be made. Rob Thomas announced during his solo summer Chip Tooth Tour that the band would be going back on tour in 2020 so his fans were hip to this information. But, this seems to be far more dramatic than just a tour announcement. Rob also has noted he and the band have been writing new music together so tomorrow (do we have to wait on pins and needles all night?) all will be revealed and we will share it right here!

Rob Thomas Makes Waves With New Single- 4th Solo Album on the Way!

photo courtesy of amazon.com It has been roughly a year since Rob Thomas let fans know new music was on the horizon and gave everyone a glimpse inside of the studio. It seemed fast-paced and exciting; whatever it was, we were ready for the ride. Fast forward to early February and a countdown began via Rob's Instagram story, leading to 2/20 when, at midnight, both the lead single and video from his fourth solo album, would be released. "One Less Day (Dying Young)" off of 'Chip Tooth Smile' came right at 12am on the 20th and this is the anthem for all of those who grew up listening to Rob as both the front man for Matchbox Twenty but also as a solo artist. It was always said that only the good die young and while this may be a very true statement, it can be a struggle not only getting older but constantly watching peers around us vanish in the blink of an eye. It started in high school and now, we are in our 30's, 40's, and beyond; it never stops an...

Our New Favorite Rob Thomas Song!

Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty fame is doing a solo tour at the moment to benefit his animal charity Sidewalk Angels. While performing fan favorites, Thomas, 42 also managed to sneak in two possible new additions to his third solo disc, to be released in 2015. One of them, "I Think We'd Feel Good Together" is by far our favorite and hope that it makes it on to the record! Check out this awesome video from another Rob fan and tell us what you think!
