Mandi's Thoughts On The 'Supermarket Sweep' Reboot!

If you're anything like me, you grew up on 'Supermarket Sweep' or possibly saw the reruns. It was my most favorite game show, next to 'Press Your Luck,' so to to find out there was going to be a reboot made me beyond thrilled. I imagined myself answering questions and running through the aisles in one those extremely tacky sweatshirts; I was so ready! Since I do not have ABC, I had to watch the replay on Hulu this morning and I was ready, with my coffee in hand. Gone is original host, David Ruprecht and in is comedian and former-'SNL' star, Leslie Jones. Let me break down the pros and the cons. I always like to start with the positives so here we go.

PROS:

-The products are current so I do not feel like I'm in a time warp; I do not have to try to remember products from 1989 that are no longer on the market.
- The sweatshirts are modernized and look way cuter so I can work with them.
-There are more chances to make money so I am all about the money.
-Leslie Jones is a legit fan of the show and that is what we need in a host. We do not need someone who is just there for the money but someone who gets the excitement of the Sweep!
-There are more ways to make money in the end. You can win money and either take it or keep going so you have options. I like options. I can have 10K or 50K or 100K; it's up to my partner and I.

CONS:

-Leslie Jones is NOT David Ruprecht. There was something charming and wholesome about him and yes, it is 2020, I still want someone similar to him with a twist. She was not it.
-I am not a fan of the trivia questions and games; they seem too complicated and if you are trying to learn how to get onto the show, it's confusing.
-it did not flow like the original.
-I did not get the warm and fuzzy feeling I used to get watching it and that made me sad.

To be fair, it was only episode one so I will give it a fair chance and watch it a few more times. You can catch it Sunday nights on ABC. Let me know how you feel in the comments or on Twitter @3icecubes!

A 'Jerseylicious' Split!

photo courtesy of imdb.com When you were on a semi-successful reality show, especially as one of the key players, and everyone watched your love story unfold, it only makes sense they will want to keep following you after the series has ended. Such has been the case for 'Jerseylicious' star, Tracy DiMarco , who always went head-to-head with Olivia Blois-Sharpe on the show based around the never-ending drama at the Jersey salon, The Gatsby. Eventually, DiMarco got her happily ever after when she married Corey Epstein in her dream wedding. She continued to pursue her passion, have three kids, develop a wildly successful podcast, and work on clothing and accessories.  But, when you are in the public eye, boasting 541K followers on Instagram , almost everything you do is up for scrutiny. Fans (and haters) began to notice a lack of presence when it came to her husband, Corey and questioned if their marriage was okay. There is an abundance of photos of daughters, Skylar and

photo courtesy of amazon.com With the return of the hit Showtime series, 'The L Word,' it makes fans of the original show and ultimate reality spinoff, 'The Real L Word,' quite nostalgic. Actors can keep acting but reality stars can drift off into the clouds after their 15 minutes of fame are over. TRLW lasted three seasons with a revolving door of lesbians who soon became like friends and family. By the final season, the series went bi-coastal, utilizing NYC as a playground, as well. The show ended in 2012 with two weddings and a lot of tears. So, where are they now?
