Sebastian Stan Gearing Up For Oscar Nod As President Trump

Sebastian Stan-Instagram

Sebastian Stan is taking a leap in his career and taking on a role that, if played right, could earn him an Oscar nod. He has been nabbed to play Donald Trump but in one specific phase of the shamed former President's life. Stan will play the Don as a young man in The Apprentice. As many reality television fans know, President Trump faced a resurgence when he helmed the top-rated cutthroat series. He would take dedicated and determined people (hey, Omarosa) and hand them tasks in which they needed to excel. In the end, the winner received a 250K starting contract. The show eventually spawned The Celebrity Apprentice and made Trump a cultural icon. He became best known for his catchphrase: "You're Fired!" at the end of each episode. According to ET, the film is described as this:

"The Apprentice is an exploration of power and ambition set in a world of corruption and deceit. It's a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of an American dynasty. Filled with larger than life characters, it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers."

Though the film is entitled The Apprentice, it will actually take place in the seventies and eighties, about two decades prior to the show's actual conception. Filming will start this week but a release date was not mentioned. This could be Sebastian Stan's shining moment though he has had several. He was incredible in I, Tonya, and Pam & Tommy as well as Monday. Do you think this is proper casting or will it be a stretch?
