Patrick Dempsey's Mother Passes Away!

Our hearts and prayers go out to "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey as he has lost his mother, Amanda to cancer at the tender age of 79. She has been battling this since 1997 and this resulted in The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, formed by Patrick and sisters Mary and Alicia.
The Dempsey Center "provides free cancer support, education and integrative medicine services to anyone impacted by cancer, regardless of where treatment is received." They have already raised five million dollars since the inception; it is located in Maine. The President/CEO of Central Maine Healthcare released a statement regarding Amanda's passing: "The entire Central Maine Medical family mourns the passing of Amanda Dempsey. Amanda Dempsey was both a great lady and a determined fighter who displayed tremendous courage, class and grace during her long battle with cancer ... We will miss Amanda deeply, but we were all blessed by knowing her and being inspired by her life story.” We send nothing but love to the Dempsey's during this trying time!
