Why Hollywood, oh why must you hurt me this way? After a decade of marriage and three children together, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have announced that they are getting a divorce. Rumors have been swirling for some time now and they were only validated when moving trucks were seen outside of the couple's home. They seemed to happy when they eloped on an island with Victor Garber as the only witness. So, what went wrong?
Who knows as they just celebrated their tenth anniversary yesterday! Make it an even number, I get it. In a statement, the couple had this to say to E!: "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
Just a little under a year ago, Affleck, 42 was defending his marriage to Garner, 43 to Details Magazine, saying this: "See, that's tabloid s--t. That's all bulls--t. They completely lie. I mean, I can show you 10 articles of Star and OK!—those magazines feel totally comfortable absolutely fictionalizing every single element of the story. And there's nothing you can do about that. My only hope is that people with any common sense recognize that those stories are false. And, I don't know, there're worse stories..." We wish them and their children the absolute best during this difficult time. Why??
