Mandi's Thoughts on...Grease LIVE!

Sunday night, everyone was doing the hand jive during FOX's live version of the hit musical "Grease." This one starred "Dancing With the Stars" judge and dancer Julianne Hough and Broadway star Aaron Tveit. It was nerve wrecking to say the least after several lackluster acting performances from Hough and the dark cloud of Vanessa Hudgens father passing the night prior. So, after three hours, here is what I have to say:

  • Carly Rae Jepsen is not only an incredibly fun singer but she was a highlight in her role as Frenchy.
  • KeKe Palmer (Marty) and Hudgens (Rizzo) are both very talented but I feel that they should have switched roles.
  • This Jan was so much better than the one in the film. (Sorry original actress.)
  • Boyz 2 Men as the Teen Angels? No! Nick Carter, Joey Lawrence, Usher, Pharrell, Adam Levine...
  • Eve Plumb, what did you do to yourself. Yes, the original Jan Brady was filling the role of the shop teacher and she did it well but was virtually unrecognizable.
  • Too many commercials and too long, if you ask me. I wanted to see the ending so badly and I felt that a half hour could have been shaved off.
  • Julianne Hough has found her niche as Sandy. She proved that she can sing, dance (we already knew that) and really blew me away. I think she was the perfect choice.
  • Aaron Tveit- the relative newcomer was a risk as the iconic Danny and I have to say...he had the moves, the voice and the charisma. I see huge things in his future.
Was I super impressed? No. But was I entertained and felt satisfied with what I watched? Absolutely and it made me want to be in "Grease" and go back to acting! Amazing quick changes and scene switches. Grade- B.

A 'Jerseylicious' Split!

photo courtesy of imdb.com When you were on a semi-successful reality show, especially as one of the key players, and everyone watched your love story unfold, it only makes sense they will want to keep following you after the series has ended. Such has been the case for 'Jerseylicious' star, Tracy DiMarco , who always went head-to-head with Olivia Blois-Sharpe on the show based around the never-ending drama at the Jersey salon, The Gatsby. Eventually, DiMarco got her happily ever after when she married Corey Epstein in her dream wedding. She continued to pursue her passion, have three kids, develop a wildly successful podcast, and work on clothing and accessories.  But, when you are in the public eye, boasting 541K followers on Instagram , almost everything you do is up for scrutiny. Fans (and haters) began to notice a lack of presence when it came to her husband, Corey and questioned if their marriage was okay. There is an abundance of photos of daughters, Skylar and

'The Real L Word' Cast- Where Are They Now?

photo courtesy of amazon.com With the return of the hit Showtime series, 'The L Word,' it makes fans of the original show and ultimate reality spinoff, 'The Real L Word,' quite nostalgic. Actors can keep acting but reality stars can drift off into the clouds after their 15 minutes of fame are over. TRLW lasted three seasons with a revolving door of lesbians who soon became like friends and family. Initially based in California, the show followed the lives of a handful of gay women, somehow intertwined in life, and what it was like to date, fall in love, have sex, try to make babies, propose, be successful, and so much more. By the final season, the series went bi-coastal, utilizing NYC as a playground, as well. The show ended in 2012 with two weddings and a lot of tears. So, where are they now?
