Bill Paxton Dead at 61!

The Oscars were supposed to be a happy time but for many attendees, their hearts and minds were elsewhere. Earlier, it had been announced that actor Bill Paxton had died due to complications during surgery. He was just 61. His former "Big Love" co-star Ginnifer Goodwin revealed that she did not want to attend the awards show but it was hubby and co-star, Josh Dallas, who encouraged her to be there. She said that it was Paxton's love for all things Hollywood that made her decision to attend that much easier.

Because he passed after the "In Memoriam" tribute had been compiled, a choked up Jennifer Aniston gave him a shout out during her intro speech. He was best known for roles in "Twister," HBO's "Big Love," "Aliens," "Titanic," "Apollo 13," and "Tombstone" to name a few. The Emmy winner is survived by his wife Louise and children, James and Lydia. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, fans, and all who knew and loved him. Another gone too soon.

*Judge Wapner also passed away at the age of 97 as well as "Game of Thrones" star Neil Fingelton.
