We just announced there was a new housewife coming to the 'RHONY' franchise, per Luann de Lesseps. Today, we are sad to say one of the OG's is leaving and we are not happy about it! Bethenny Frankel, who has been a staple from seasons 1-3 then 7-11, announced she will be departing the series to focus on other endeavors. "I have decided to leave the 'Housewives' franchise to explore my next chapter. It's time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women," Frankel shared with Variety today. As shocked as fans of the show, set to start filming season 12 around Labor Day, were at this announcement, Frankel's co-stars seemingly had no idea this was the path she was taking.
"I'm only disappointed that Bethenny did not inform her costars that she's not coming back to the show," Ramona Singer of 'RHONY' told PEOPLE after saying how happy she is for all of the opportunities Bethenny has in her life, like her boyfriend. "When she left in season 4, we found out through the press she was doing her spinoff, Bethenny Getting Married. She was upset we never congratulated her, but we were upset she never told us! And that's how we feel now. There is a camaraderie among us as a cast. Love us, hate us, not like us- we are a team. To hear this from the press and not through her is upsetting." No word from her other co-stars about her departure but this will definitely change the game and how exciting the show will be, love her or hate her. But, we wish her all the best!
