If you are a CNN fan, you might have noticed Anderson Cooper has been noticeably absent most of this week. Instead, Erin Burnett has been filling in during his hour. So, where has the 52-year-old wildly popular anchor been? Tonight, we got answers and it was not what anyone expected. Cooper revealed he welcomed his first child, a baby boy, via surrogate, on Monday. He named his son Wyatt (for his father) Morgan (which he discovered was on the short list of possible names for him as well as a family name on his mother's side).
Both of his parents have passed; his father died when he was 10 and his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, passed away last summer. He also lost a brother to suicide but has a lot of close friends, including Andy Cohen. Cohen also welcomed a son last year via surrogate and reposted a photo of Anderson and Wyatt on Instagram as he and son, Ben are very eager to meet their new friend once this pandemic allows. We are so very happy for the new family and cannot wait to see it grow and evolve. Congratulations.
