Anna Faris Leaving 'Mom'- Will Not Appear on Upccoming Season!

Hey 2020- stop attacking us! One of my absolute favorite comedies is going to see a huge shift in its upcoming season; the highly-rated sitcom, 'Mom,' which is now entering its eighth season, is losing one of its main characters. Anna Faris, who plays Christy Plunkett, announced she is leaving the series after being there since day one. In a statement to Us Weekly, the 43-year-old actress had this to say:

“The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career. I’m so thankful to Chuck [Lorre], the writers and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

She, along with Oscar-winner, Allison Janney, play mother and daughter and have led this show for seven years, leading it to be picked up for the seventh and eight season simultaneously. Warner Bros. Television, Chuck Lorre Productions, and CBS issued this statement regarding Faris' departure:

“From the inception of Mom, Anna was the first and only choice for the role of Christy. We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us. We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal.”

The series is set to resume shooting on September 14th due to Covid and will start airing new episodes in November. According to Deadline, the shock of Faris leaving is even harder to swallow because both she and Janney had both signed two-year contracts in 2019. However, we do not know what clauses were in the contracts that may have allowed an out for Faris. If this could potentially have been the last season of 'Mom,' couldn't Faris just stayed? And if comedy is our relief during all of this madness, couldn't she have just given us that? We do not know what goes on behind the scenes as Faris has recently gotten engaged but still. I am not happy about this news and I would love to hear how you think this show will be with her gone.

As of now, Mimi Kennedy (Marjorie), Jaime Pressley (Jill), Beth Hall (Wendy), Kristen Johnston (Tammy), and William Fichtner (Adam) are all still set to reprise their roles and there is no talk of recasting the role of Christy but her absence will be acknowledged. Did she get into a better law school out of state and she's there instead? We will find out soon enough when 'Mom' returns to CBS in November. You can catch up on season seven on the CBS app or on Hulu.

A 'Jerseylicious' Split!

photo courtesy of imdb.com When you were on a semi-successful reality show, especially as one of the key players, and everyone watched your love story unfold, it only makes sense they will want to keep following you after the series has ended. Such has been the case for 'Jerseylicious' star, Tracy DiMarco , who always went head-to-head with Olivia Blois-Sharpe on the show based around the never-ending drama at the Jersey salon, The Gatsby. Eventually, DiMarco got her happily ever after when she married Corey Epstein in her dream wedding. She continued to pursue her passion, have three kids, develop a wildly successful podcast, and work on clothing and accessories.  But, when you are in the public eye, boasting 541K followers on Instagram , almost everything you do is up for scrutiny. Fans (and haters) began to notice a lack of presence when it came to her husband, Corey and questioned if their marriage was okay. There is an abundance of photos of daughters, Skylar and

'The Real L Word' Cast- Where Are They Now?

photo courtesy of amazon.com With the return of the hit Showtime series, 'The L Word,' it makes fans of the original show and ultimate reality spinoff, 'The Real L Word,' quite nostalgic. Actors can keep acting but reality stars can drift off into the clouds after their 15 minutes of fame are over. TRLW lasted three seasons with a revolving door of lesbians who soon became like friends and family. Initially based in California, the show followed the lives of a handful of gay women, somehow intertwined in life, and what it was like to date, fall in love, have sex, try to make babies, propose, be successful, and so much more. By the final season, the series went bi-coastal, utilizing NYC as a playground, as well. The show ended in 2012 with two weddings and a lot of tears. So, where are they now?
