Kelly Dodd Let Go From 'RHOC'- Who Was First Cast Member To Come See Her?

Last night, 'RHOC' Season 16 casting news broke. And it was a bit shocking. OUT are Braunwyn Windham-Burke and one-season wonder Elizabeth Vargas. But, the biggest shocker may have been that Kelly Dodd's contract was not renewed. Love or hate her, she was the most controversial housewife of the series. At this point, she was actually the only real housewife, next to Emily Simpson. Braunwyn is still married to husband Sean but came out as a lesbian at the end of Season 15. They are choosing to continue to live together and raise their seven children but will pursue somewhat of an open marriage. As for Dodd, as many fans who called for her to be fired, just as many wanted her to stay. No one ever knew what she would say or do.

Her time has come to an end after joining the series in Season 11 via Meghan King. Coming full circle, Heather Dubrow will be returning for the upcoming season. She was actually the one who initially brought King on in Season 10 before leaving two seasons later. Dubrow heavily clashed with Dodd and shared on her podcast she most likely would have turned the show down a year or two ago. But, the timing was right this time around when Bravo and Andy Cohen were ready to revamp the series. This meant letting go of some of the cast that may not be working. According to Cohen, many tweets came in requesting Dubrow's return. He hoped this would help lure her back. The timing happened to be right.

As for Dodd, she has yet to publicly make a statement regarding her departure, unlike Braunwyn and Elizabeth. However, she did share her first visitor in her Instagram stories after the news broke last night-  Shannon Beador and her boyfriend, John. Looking somber, Beador brought tequila to Kelly's home she shares with husband, Rick Leventhal.

She said the news had already come out and commented how Shannon was a good person. Kelly took a quick jab at Radar Online and then they all just silently sat together and played with Kelly's pups. It appears Kelly is still taking it all in. Returning for the new season of 'RHOC' are Beador, Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson.. Tamra Judge is possibly coming back as a "friend of" but time will tell. Are you excited about the shake up? Let us know!
