TMZ has since taken the photos down. They are now saying this:
"TMZ has seen a photo showing Liam's body on the deck at the hotel with tables and chairs nearby, and you can clearly see his tattoos -- a clock on his left forearm, and a scorpion on his abdomen."
I still stand by everything I wrote in this editorial and I hope that they never exploit another tragedy like this again.
"TMZ obtained a photo showing Liam's body on a wooden deck at the hotel with tables and chairs nearby. We're not showing the whole body, but you can clearly see his tattoos -- a clock on his left forearm, and a scorpion on his abdomen."
That is sinking to a new low as he has just passed away. Does his child need to see this because the Internet lasts forever? Do his loved ones need to have that imprinted in their minds when they close their eyes to go to sleep because I am fairly certain they are already traumatized enough? Are we, as the public, entitled to see this while a family is grieving a horrific loss? The answer to all of the above is "NO." This is exploitation at its finest and there is a way to report a story without abusing the deceased.
In the future, I beg of you to do better. I have been a writer for over a decade, and I respect my craft, and the community I am a part of. This behavior is atrocious.
Rest in paradise, Liam, and may you finally be at peace.
*Yes, I have linked to the article because I quoted the news site and it is only fair for others to make their own assessment. However, I really do not like giving any clicks to this abhorrent article.*
