Former 'Glee' star, Naya Rivera is presumed to have passed away after the pontoon boat she rented was found with just her sleeping son, Josey aboard. The 33-year-old performer and author took her four-year-old out on Lake Piru (some outlets have spelled it Puru) in Ventura County, California but she was never seen again. Josey claimed he and his mother went swimming in the lake but only he got back on the boat, according to Sheriff's Captain Eric Buschow. An adult life vest was still on the boat when it was found.
"We hope for the best, we prepare for the worst," Deputy Chris Dyer shared this morning. The search for Rivera, who played Santana Lopez on 'Glee' for six years, went on until the late evening last night but was suspended until this morning, which had many fans up in arms, believing it never should have stopped regardless of the choppy nature of the waters. After a certain point today, the mission went from search-and-rescue to search-and-recovery but there is no evidence of foul play, according to Buschow.
However, on July 2nd, Rivera took to Twitter to post, what is now seemingly quite ominous: "no matter the year, circumstance, or strifes everyday you're alive is a blessing. make the most of today and every day you are given. tomorrow is not promised." That initial posting may have just been words followed by a beautiful photo of Rivera is now opening up a world of questions for fans and family who are still holding out hope she will be found somewhere safe and sound. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Naya, wherever she is.
