It is a sad day for fans of 'General Hospital,' which just swept the Daytime Emmys. Longtime cast member, Stuart Damon has passed away. Damon played Alan Quartermaine for over thirty years on the hit soap opera, garnering an Emmy in 199. His character was killed off but he would still pop up, as many cast members do. He officially left in 2013. In 1965, Damon also played Prince Charming in the live-action version of 'Cinderella' alongside Lesley Ann Warren.
The actor had been suffering from renal failure and was 84 when he took his last breaths. He leaves behind his wife, Deirdre and their children, Jennifer and Christopher. Steve Burton, who played his son, Jason Morgan, posted a tribute on his Instagram. He referred to Damon as "kind, generous, selfless and just an awesome guy." This is definitely a big loss to anyone who grew up watching soaps. Our condolences to his family, friends, co-stars, and fans.
